Rutland Rattle

Event dates
6 Jun 2026
Location
Ketton Guide & Scout Hall, 11 Pit Lane, Ketton, Stamford PE9 3SZ
Categories
  • Section run
Description
The Rutland Rattle is a 75-mile, self-navigated one-day social run around some of the most picturesque riding roads of England’s smallest county. The event will be held from 10:00am on Saturday 6 th June 2026 starting and ending in the village of Ketton near Stamford. After roughly 45 miles, a fork will take riders left for the "standard" 75-mile route or right to take in the "Langtons Loop" which will re-join the standard route later but will extend the total ride to 90 miles. Decisions as to which route to take can be made on the day. We will pass through the spectacular medieval stone-built town of Stamford and later stop for refreshments at the fabulous Launde Abbey, much admired by many of the riders in 2025. There'll also be some new locations to enjoy along the way and a couple of surprises. The ride will finish at the fabulous Railway Inn, also in Ketton and just a 2 minute ride from the start location for anyone who has parked a van or trailer. This is a non-competitive “Tiddler” run exclusively for motorcycles built prior to 1st January 1980 with an engine capacity of 250cc or less. This year's route is quite undulating with over 1300 metres (4500 feet) of combined climbing. Due to this combination of distance and hills, entry will be restricted to "capable" machines meaning ultra-low powered mopeds, autocycles and cycle-motors will be excluded. If in doubt, please do ask. Machines will be flagged off at 1-minute intervals at the start and provided with a route sheet recommending a circumnavigation of the county with suggested refreshment stop/s along the way. Cost: £20 per person. This cost includes event registration, coffee/tea/bacon sandwich at the start and a burger at the finish . Pre-registration is required . Full details and pre-registration information available from Paul Frost. Please call 07823787457 or email Frostytheslowman@gmail.com
